Baby & Toddler Reflexology

What it’s all about…

The term ‘reflexology’ is relatively new, however the practise of working holistically on a person’s feet and hands is embedded in ancient cultures. It’s difficult to pinpoint one person or country to the development of Reflexology. Evidence dating back to 2,500BC from Ancient Egyptian tombs show people receiving hand and foot treatments. Additionally, it can be linked to traditional Chinese and Indian medicine.

The development of Reflexoglogy as we know it today is accredited to Eunice Ingham, also celebrated as the Mother of Reflexology. Through her works, she created charts which mapped out the feet. These charts are still used today.

Babies feet, being much smaller than an adults, are yet to fully develop and therefore are often more receptive to reflexology.
